Question Sleeping patterns scince a change from shift work

Scince i came off a 2/3 shift rota last november i have been sleeping like a log, seriously i now sleep for 9 hours + every single night

is this a temp thing or will it last for ever, its getting a bit annoying when i cant stay awake late because my eyes are drooping, whenever i goto see the G/F down south im fast asleep by 10.30pm and shes getting a bit narked because i cant be arsed to get stuck into sum late night frolics lol

sumbody told me sumthing daft about missing X amount of sleeping hours while on shifts, so now my body is claiming them back, sounds rediculass (sp?)

could this because i luanched my own buisness and do 70+ hours a week? (its not that hard a woprk to be fair), i also started lifting wieghts, which i suppose would tire myself a ickle bit, but not by this much.
ideas? anybody done the orrible shifts thing and then came off them for good? a mate who is still on 3 shifts cant belive how much i kip now

you could be overtraining on the weights. overtraining commonly results in tiredness.

well its 8.25, just stepped out of the shower and im yawning all ready
im not going crazy with the weights to be honest, i spend about 20mins/day 3 times a week just shoving a barbell and sum dumbells around

few curls and shurgs and stuff, with sum press ups to warm up with, doesnt seam like an extreme workout, and i have been doing the pressups for over a year now (wieghts were added late last year with a reduction in the pressups)

If its any help mate, I've just started doing 4 on 4 off. Its not hard work in the extreme, (I'm lucky if I do 3 hours work in 12). But once every 2 - 4 weeks I will sleep for 14 - 16 hours on my transition from days to nights.

What are you eating now you are not on shifts?

I seem to eat better when not on shifts though, but everyone is different.

I eat complete crap when at work due to not having adequate facilities, so everything is packaged stuff. I do eat healthy at home, ish. By eck, that kebab was good!!

There was a programme on about sleep the other week with Prof. Winston. There they had a guy doing the opposite to you, going from off-shift to on-shift trying to adjust to doing a milk round.
