The dreaded Valentines day....
If I want any sex this month I better get the biatch some roses
Tesco are delivering 12 for £20 - seems too cheap to me - what do you think?
http://www.tesco.com/flowers/
I'm a tight sod so don't want to waste too much money on flowers - Any ideas where else is cheap but not tacky?

=nods= Tell the other half that Valentine's Day is a crock of poo and just an excuse to wrangle more money out of people, so we should give it a miss.
That's what I did. He agreed.

My other half tells me that Valetines Day is only for when you are on the chase for someone, and now that he has me, there is no need to bother !!!!

Looks like the girls have it sussed this year. No cards or pressies for me and the missus this year, but we will go out for a nice meal at the end of the month when the prices get back to normal.
With a bit of luck this is the beginning of the end for these crappy events that are perpetuated by Hallmark and Co to boost their revenues.

You lot that have to buy roses to get your leg-over are clearly doing it wrong!!

It's such a waste of money, I'd be more upset if he did buy me something

Too commercialised by far.
If we feel the need to go out for a meal, we'll go when we choose to, not when it's deemed "law" by a random day. Same with little dust-gathering gifts. Don't need an over-priced, over-hyped day to say that we love each other.

Its alright, I have the perfect gift.........
LOVE IS…A PEUGEOT COUPÉ CABRIOLET
206CC and 307CC make the perfect gift for Valentine’s Day
206CC tops the sales chart in 2004 as Britain’s love affair with ‘roof down’ motoring continues
If you’re struggling to find that perfect Valentine’s Day gift for your loved one, Peugeot has the answer – an ideal gift for him or her – the Peugeot 206 Coupé Cabriolet (CC) and 307CC.
Over 15,700 people fell in love with either the 206CC or 307CC last year, making Peugeot the most popular make of open-top car on the UK’s roads. In fact more 206CCs were sold than any other type of convertible car, with sales of almost 9,000 cars.
The stylish good looks, great handling and revolutionary electric folding metal roof have combined to make the Peugeot 206CC number one for the second year running, with its electric roof offering owners convenience and security by folding efficiently and snugly into the boot in just seconds.
The Peugeot 206CC is available in three trim levels, S, SE or Allure with either a 1.6 litre or 2.0 litre petrol engine. The 1.6 litre engine generates 110 bhp at 5,800 rpm and the 2.0 litre 138 bhp at 6,000 rpm, and is available with a five speed manual or four speed ‘tiptronic’ automatic gearbox. Prices start at £14,920 on the road for the 1.6 S model.
The 307CC is available with a 1.6 litre 110 bhp, 2.0 litre 138 bhp unit or the high performance 2.0 litre, 180 bhp engine. The 2.0 litre 138 bhp model is also available with a four speed ‘tiptronic’ gearbox. It can seat four people comfortably and is one of the safest convertibles in its class with four airbags and an automatic roll over protection system. Prices for the 307CC start at £16,995 on the road for the 1.6 variant.
With good looks, great handling and bags of style, either model is the perfect way to say ‘I love you’ this Valentine’s Day.

Morrisons Supermarket for cheap roses!
But I ain't bothering all with all that crap. You should show your love for your all year round, not just one commercialised day.
(and thats what I told the gf when she asked what I was buying her for Valentines Day )

I like all the comments about it being a waste of money - can you all email my girlfriend telling her the same.

odd - that's also what I said to my other half too (and I hate fixed Valentines menus too!!)
and the 307cc does a decent speed if you get the 180 version - that's 50bhp more than you Driving Miss Daisy Booth

LOL as regards to the commercialised nonsense part of VD,
Even my Missus is of the view its a complete waste of money (at the end of the day my money is her money etc etc and she can think of far better ways of spending it!)
I've decided to leave work a bit early, go home and cook her a nice meal for when she gets in, nice bottle of wine, perhaps a bit of candlelight, soft music etc - and she will probably be sick, LOL!
Seriously, I NEVER normally do stuff like that (normally just go out) so she will be made up - job done and for very little expense.
Good luck.

Being the LEO girlie that I am, I demand the very, very best on V Day. If he don't produce, then.... well figure it out.
It only happens once a year for gawd's sakes. Plus...... it is a two way street.

To be honest I love it an thats bearing in mind that I have one girlfriend one part time girlfriend and one prospective girlfriend all in I have orderd 400 roses and got them for .90 pence each. Its one day when you can try over blown romantic gestures with lots of women just for the fun of it.
