Geneva is truly brass monkey weather these days. The pics in this link were taken this week (not by me, I've been laid up with 'flu the past 10 days ).

Don't fancy having my scoob treated to an ice-shower like those at the bottom of the page...

Similar Scene in Toronto the other night. Water main burst, causing a flood, cars driving past sprayed other cars, thus causing 2 - 5 inch thick ice covering.

It's not too cold here, about -8 (-15 with windchill) at the moment, probably fall to around -14 (sans windchill) tonight. Weekend is looking to be a high of around 0 - 2C, not bad! Was a nice fresh -15 to -25 last weekend, plus snow everywhere, lovely

What super photos.
It has been a little cold down there in Cheeseyland, with Samedan at -28 and Davos at a positively balmy -21.

J4CKO, you were lucky indeed - on Sunday, the airport was closed for 9 hours whilst they tried to clear the snow !

In depth analysis (okay, a good close look) would suggest that it's covered in whatever's been coming over that wall. Does anyone know if that's a lake, or a sea? 'Cos if it's the latter then the bleeding things gonna rot before it's thawed out

...and how cold does seawater have to be to freeze?

Seawater freezes at a temperature that is slightly colder than fresh water (0.0° Celsius). The freezing temperature of seawater also varies with the concentration of salts. More salt the lower the initial freezing temperature. At a salinity of 35 parts per thousand, seawater freezes at a temperature of -1.9° Celsius.

Lake Geneva (Lac Leman) is freshwater.
