Beer Calculator - amazing but true!
Just to keep today's drink related themes going, anyone care to explain how the hell this works?
"...BEER MATHEMATICS
Amazing but true!
DON'T CHEAT BY SCROLLING DOWN FIRST!
It takes less than a minute.......
Work this out as you read.
Be sure you don't read the bottom until you've worked it out! This is not one of those waste of time things, it's fun.
1. First of all, pick the number of times a week that you would like to have a pint. (try for more than once)
2. Multiply this number by 2 (Just to be honest)
3. Add 5. (for Sunday)
4. Multiply it by 50 I'll wait while you get the calculator................
5. If you have already had your birthday this year add 1755.... If you haven't, add 1754 ...
6. Now subtract the four-digit year that you were born.
You should have a three-digit number
The first digit of this was your original number
(i.e., how many times you want to have a pint week).
The next two numbers are .......
YOUR AGE! ~ (Oh YES, it IS!!!!! )
THIS IS THE ONLY YEAR IT WILL EVER WORK, SO SPREAD IT AROUND WHILE IT LASTS..."

So:
You should have a three-digit number - Nope
The first digit of this was your original number - Nope - it was 0 (I don't drink pints, I drink bottles
The next two numbers are .......YOUR AGE! ~ (Oh YES, it IS!!!!! ) Nope - I can confirm I am older than 0

Well, it's bound to work if you think about it :
a) You always add on 5, which is mutiplied by 50, so you always add on a fixed value of 250. You also add on a fixed value of 1754 ( or 1755 ), which adds up to 2004 ( or 2005 ). Assuming you use 1754, then you take the year of your birth from 2004. Well, that will be your age then !!!
b) You multiply your number by 2 and then 50, i.e. 100, so you just shift your number by 2 digits so when you do the stuff in a) above it does in interfer with order of the digits, so you will always get 3 digits : number, age.
Easy enough to me !

Seen it before or similar and they are all the same as AdiM explained.
The "THIS IS THE ONLY YEAR IT WILL EVER WORK, SO SPREAD IT AROUND WHILE IT LASTS..." only means that next year you will have to add 1756/1755
Could make it generic by saying "Add the current year minus 250, then subtract another 1 if you've not had your birthday yet" but would be a bit of a give away
