Goodfellas is an outstanding movie in all respects, but Raging Bull is a masterpiece.
When people ask me about movies I tell them to watch The Godfather, Raging Bull and Blue Velvet - if they still want to discuss movies with me after that then fair enough, but funnily enough most don't
Still it's their loss, they can stick to their LOTR and other mainstream modern dross.

I voted Raging Bull, it really is an outstanding film, and changing the size of the ring instead of going for a wide angle was something short of genius. The fight scenes were amazing. Also Joe Pesci played a pretty convincing psycho!!!!
