Default Starting a new job...

Right this is going to make me sound like a bit of a pansy, but on Tues I start a new job and i'm absolutely bricking it.

Its my first 'proper' job since finishing uni in the summer and I really don't know what to expect.

I've done the same p/t job for nearly six years now and I suppose have just ended up in a comfort zone and have never had to worry about starting a new job.

So has anybody got any tips for dealing with nerves and etiquette when starting work in a small/medium sized organisation.

BTW job is in purchasing/logistics.

Cheers

Smile at everyone

Do NOT cr4p in the bosses desk drawer (not yet anyway!!)

Buy everyone a coffee/make everyone a coffee

Wash properly and smell nice - some mints help

The first day will last about 30minutes in your mind - enjoy it!

Yeah common sense really
just go smart, be polite and all the usual stuff

any company worth their salt wont just chuck you in at the deep end
and should just ease you in gradually.

btw what sort of purchasing are you doing?

Yeah, I know its pretty much common sense but you just get used to the same people and environment and everything else seems alien.
