Started by Adi Dassler, so guess it would depend on pronunciation of his first name.

I'm with Adi-Das

She is wrong.

Take her outside and shoot her. Harsh but fair.

Adi-das definately

A-dee-das sounds **** and has been the chav translation of it for years. Some muppet at school started calling it that, and then the rest of the sports team retards copied him and it went from there.

Thumbs up

I'm with Ozzy: Adi Dassler started the company so it's Adi-das.

You'll NEVER convince anyone they're wrong to say Adeedas though so just carry on being right, and ignore the chavs!

It was his brother that introduced the flourescent stripes.

He was called Bobby Dassler.

As a side note, if you want non-chav Adidas stuff (i.e. retro '60's, 70's or 80's) then have a look at http://www.retro-clothes.co.uk/

Run by a bloke called Daniel (lives in France now) who got me a mint 1960's original tracksuit top. Paid a bit for it, but it's worth it

The pronounciation "A-DEE-das" comes from an old Beastie Boys track IIRC?

I would go with Adi das. Adi Dassler started adidas, while his brother Rudolf started Puma. Later on, a grandson of Adi Dassler (also named Adi Dassler) started the sneaker company A. D. One.

From what I've found, there are at least three different first names that have been ascribed to Adi Dassler, the founder of adidas; "Adi" generally acknowledged to be a nickname. He has been called "Adolf," "Adolph," and "Alfred" by various sources... but adidas states that his name is "Adolf Dassler." So I guess Adee das is wrong
