Angry Courier Companies

Moan for the morning...

Ordered something last Thursday, paid for next day, still haven't received it.
Courier couldn't find the campus I work on (green field site) twice - despite previous deliveries here... since Tuesday they just haven't had a driver available...

Looks like today will be no different, and Amtrak head office aren't being helpful..

Just seems companies don't care these days.

How true is that

We get various stuff delivered by courier to sites (construction) and they're forever delivering to the first person they see.

We've had stuff signed for by M. Mouse and G W Bush They seem to think that as long as they have a signature they can **** off.

A job we are currently on in Manchester has seen £750.00 worth of small tools just not turn up and countless things we've never managed to find let alone locating Mr Bush and Mr Mouse.

To me it's the couriers who want a *******, like you said they just dont care

It just a shame, because I'm considering not ordering from the goods supplier again due to this, and also because they (the supplier) have not replied to my emails and I can't contact them on the phone (due to no queuing system).

Hugely frustrated now... Customer service... pah!

I had a delivery the other day when I wasn't in and came home to find the "We called but you weren't at home card" on the door mat.

I was just about to call to arrange to pick it up when I noticed "bbq" written in the corner of the card in barely legible scrawl. Nah.... surely not!...

Sure enough, there was my parcel.... hidden in my webber barbeque, all covered in charcoal and congealed grease!

To be fair to them, I am glad they left it as it saved me a journey.... but they should have been a bit clearer on the card.... I wouldn't have found that parcel until barbeque season!

Not true in all cases I'll have you know.

The problem is 2 fold.

1) You don't want to pay much money

2) Because of 1 above, the companies pay minimal wages to their staff

That equals low paid workers under pressure to perform = recipe for disaster.

Which could be applied to most companies - and does not excuse it.

I'm not blaming the individuals, but do blame the company as a whole.

Finally got the parcel, one item damaged - which I'll fix as I cant be bothered to go through the returns process and another Amtrak experience.

Pay the money & book a Sameday Courier

We actually pay 20% more to our boys/girls than any other company in London - we can then cherrypick

yer cheeky git - unfortunately, when ordering you are presented with 3 options in this case.

Royal Mail - no insurance
Amtrak next day inc insurance
Amtrak Saturday delivery inc insurance

believe me, if they offered that service I would have paid the extra!

Got the stuff now, and won't be ordering from these guys again.

ARRRRGGGGHHHH

Parcelforce 24 MY ****. Parcelforce when they can be bothered more like!

Picked up fine yesterday now sat in Coventry - only half way. If they can't deliver on a promise why offer the service?

Just got off the phone saying it might turn up tomorrow even then no guarantee. Can't believe it - well I can!

Friendly people but soooo frustrating!

Dont start me

Yesterday ParcelFarce left a Crimbo book order in our bin, said bin that had been left out for emtying and cleaning. Great, some nice soggy bleach saturated books were not on my shopping list. The idiot didnt even give me a clue to where they left the parcel and it was only because I looked to make sure that the bin had been cleaned I even found it, grrrrrrrrrrr

Anything I take to APC up to 18:30 is usually delivered next day unless it is a remote destination. eg Stornoway.

City-Link are ace!
Agreed! One of their drivers tried to deliver my new laptop while I was out. He rung me on my mob # and asked me what to do, I asked him if my neighbours were in, which they were, so he left it with them. Well impressed Got to be easier than carting it back to base surely

I can't beleive I'm hearing praise for City Link as I've had nothing but horror stories with them.

At one company I worked for, the driver parked in our loading bay uninvited, and shoved the parcel right in the corner, then grabbed the nearest spotty trainee and pressurised him into signing for it. It was later revealed that the item was severely damaged in one corner and the driver had hidden this by pushing it into the corner of the loading bay.

I also once ordered a subwoofer box for my car, went to the depot and they couldn't find it, after a bit of a search, gave me the "it must still be on the van" excuse despite it being nearly 8PM, all the van parking spaces occupied and them about to shut the depot down for the night. I found my parcel as I wandered out, it had been sat on by an employee having a tea/ciggy break and thus not found in the search. I just picked it up and walked out and City Link still havent noticed that it went missing.

Oh and Amtrak were always crap, then they took on one of our neighbours as a driver, so he just kept our parcels in his house and popped them around of an evening. Fantastic but definately not standard practice.

City Link 'delivered' a digital camera for my folks last week.

It was left wedged in one corner of their (totally unsecure) car port and a scrappy torn up note stuffed through the letter box with some scrawl on it saying "in car port"...
