Hi all.

Had a text arrived on my mobile this morning. Nothing strange there. But it was from "Shazam". Now this isn't a name on my contacts list and there is no number associated with the message, ie. I can't call the number back. I haven't opened the text yet, far too paranoid, but I'm wondering if anyone else has ever received a text with a name associated with it that isn't in the contacts list. I don't see how that can happen and I'm concerned it's a virus text or something.

Is that not the name of the thing if you want to know the name of the track you call it & hold your phone next to your speaker & it txts back with the name of the track ??????

shazam is a music website, they have some software that can ID a tune for you if ring the number in the SMS and play the tune down the phone. I think you can download MP3's, ringtones, and the likes too. I would be pretty suprised if your phone got infected by any sort of virus from it, just write it off along with all the other spam texts

If it is it's not something I've ever done. I vaguely recall hearing of the service you're on about though. Maybe this is a hoax text and they use that name because it 'might' be recognised by some and opened.
