ending contract with singlepoint and pac code
ok my 12 mts is up, the upgrade they have offered me doesnt seem to bad
k700i
100 mins x net a month plus 50 text
23 quid a month and 6 months half price so only 11.50 a month
they want £40 quid for the k70 though
although i cant seem to find better yet ( havent really searched much tho)
i want to end with single point and request the code thingy so that i can keep my mobile number and use it with another contract , pac code isnt it?
i spose its best done in writing and maybe recorded delivery?
how do i word it and what do i ask for for the pac thingy?

its your PUK code , good try though. its your personal unblocking key,
Your Personal Unblocking Key (normally referred to as the PUK Code) helps U unblock the SIM when it gets blocked by entering the wrong PIN code for three consecutive times. Every SIM Card has a unique PUK code and should not be disclosed to unauthorized users of the phone.
When U reach the limit for PIN attempts (U have 3 chances of entering a correct PIN Code), U will receive a message of entering PUK code on the screen of your mobile handset. Different sets display different messages for PUK code attempts. It is important to note that seven wrong attempts to enter PUK Code on your phone will result in SIM Card Rejection which will cost U Rs.750 to get a new SIM Card plus U will lose all the data stored on your previous SIM Card.
Following table lists different messages displayed on the screens of different hand sets along with their unblocking procedure.

No, it's a Porting Authorisation Code. Just phone them up and say you want a "PAC" and they should give it to you over the phone or post it out to you. There may be an admin fee for this.
I presume you're on Vodafone if it's Singlepoint? You'd probably be supplied a Vodafone Live! version of the K700 which is horrendously branded and they even prevent you from using MP3's as ringtones Have a look at the O2 online tarrifs, 100 xnet anytime mins and 500 txts for £25/month and the handset is free (and mostly unbranded).
Cheers,
Alex

o2 online are fine until you have a problem and to talk to anyone costs you 50p per min
cost me nearly 10 quid alone in calls to sort the ending of my contract with them in 03
to be fair the service was good no probs atall apart from i had no text message delivery reports for some reason
the deal stated above doesnt really seem amazing to me???
mind you i only use about 50 txt per month and 100 mins tops

I'm still on Vodafone, but always get my handsets through independents because I absolutely loath any form of network branding on my phone. Plenty of good deals around at the mo, 3 seem to have brought about a new round of competition with their voice tarrifs.

hmm interesting..
my contracts up on the 6th dec,
the phone i want isnt available until the 19th..
i have a feeling my provider will want a stupid upgrade fee if i keep my number,
i,m toying with a new contract / number (same provider)
or getting my pac and going else where..

Yes, 20 quid I think the guy on the end of the phone said, have had the number 8 years so quite attached to it, not having to learn a new 11 digit number is worth 20 quid, no room up there with all the passwords I need to remember for work
