Yes its legal.

Whether you can do it online or not depends on which phone you have?

I have the software for all nokias if thats anygood - basically you do *#069# then type the new 15 digit code displayed on screen, then the software decodes it from your network.

Most town centres seem to have a 'phone accessory/unlocking' barrow, these guys will do it for about £15. Or you can get the instructions for most phones free on line from one of the many phone forums, do a quick search on Google for your handset.
However if the phone has been totally barred, and not just SIM locaked to prevent you from putting in another network SIM, that's because its been recorded as stolen, this bar can not be reversed!

I used the nokia 7600 and found it very hard to use. Returned it within a week.

Yes you can unlock it to use with a orange sim....dont tell the shop that when you buy it though.

Not sure whether a DCT4 unlocker will do the job. No wires or anything required.

Have a look on www.smsmasters.com (or similar).

Make sure you have virus protection on your pc as sites like these can sometimes get a trojan through the backdoor.

yeah it is legal, try here www.unlockme.co.uk

This have every mobile phone in the world!!!!

or you can pay for it here (its just an email i got, did not type it out)

The number to dial is : 0906 550 1281

(calls cost just £1 per minute, at present this service is exclusive to UK networks only)

The official site for the Nokia Unlocking Hotline is: www.Dial-A-Code.co.uk

You can see a video of this code entry process at: http://www.dial-a-code.co.uk/help.html

The service supports all Nokia models (both DCT3 and DCT4 - Asic 2, 5, 6 and 7) including the new 7600, 6230, 7610! It is very simple to use!

You will need three pieces of information before you call:
1) Your phone model number e.g. 7210, 3310, 7600, etc (absolutely all Nokia's are supported)
2) The network your handset is locked to e.g. Orange, O2, T-Mobile, Vodafone, Three etc
3) Your 15 digit serial number otherwise known as an IMEI number (This can be found on the
label underneath the battery or by typing *#06# on the main screen of your phone)

My extensive experience in the GSM scene means that you can be sure this service is both accurate and safe!

So please support my new service, put the number in your phone book, you never know when it may come in handy. If you feel it will not be of use to you then please feel free to pass the number on to friends and family. You can be confident that you are recommending a quality service!

hope this helps

For Nokia unlocks try this site.
You need to register to be able to use the codes, but it's free:
