Angry Help! Mobile Phone Problem

I am in Norway roaming with Orange. My phone has worked fine for 2 weeks but 4 days ago just displayed No Access in the morning. I have had my roaming priviledges re-activated but no joy. I have spoken to Orange, spoken to Netcom and still my phone refuses to work. I have tried the sim in another handset and that did not work, which probably proves my handset is ok. Orange tell me that it is not my handset or my sim card that is wrong so where does that leave me? I think the SIM must be faulty myself but Orange does not think so.
Anybody got any ideas? I cannot get a Norwegian contract mobile phone because i am not a resident. A PAYG is no use because of all the calls i need to make. What do I do? Next time in the UK will be Xmas.

Interesting thought chris but would spend my time topping it up and anyway i can do that in Norway with a Norwegian PAYG. Id rather get some advice on what to do with my contract phone if anyone has any ideas as to what could be wrong?

I have telephoned Orange twice now, we managed to update the sim but no difference. They now say nothing is wrong at their end and it cannot be my sim or handset. They gave me the number of the local provider in Norway and i have given them all details but to no avail. What could stop the phone logging on to their network??? I knows that i wont be with orange shortly......

Can you force it to find the appropriate network manually? If so, your phone should display a list of 'available' networks.

I've always been OK for international roaming with Orange including Norway, using this method.

Harry
Good suggestion but cant be forced manually. I have been in Norway before for 2 years without a problem.
Thing is it was working fine then just stopped like it was blocked. Suspect that some dogooder has decided that i have spent enough money.......

I don't think Orange stop your account if you've spent a lot. From my dealings with mobile companies it's O2 who do that.

Harry Boy has come up with the best idea with manually selecting a different operator. If that doesn't work then it is your sim card which is faulty or Orange have f*cked up and haven't told you. Which wouldn't be the first time!

I am running a SE K700i. Suspect that Orange have done something that jaycee said.
I have arranged today for one of the companies i am associated with to provide me with a Norwegian contract phone. Many thanks for the interest guys. :-)
