sounds like a good rate - id go with that if halifax weren't so ****. they've screwed me about SO many times and have messed up practically everything ive ever done with them. i prefer to keep my money in decent places like firstdirect, natwest and egg, all of whom have never messed up for me.

thisismoney.com will have a list of the best deals at the moment altho you'll be hard pressed to beat 7%.

Abbey National have a 7% deal too. You are allowed to put £500 a month in too. Halifax will only allow £250

Or you could just stick it in an ING account !

I'm not aware of anything that's any better - but you're restricted to saving between £25 & £250 a month.

Abbey offers more or less the same thing [7.00% gross fixed], but allows savings of £20 to £500 a month.

HTH

Later:- Sorry for repeating what others have already said (phone call half way through typing response)

together thats £750 /month from my salary.thats easily enough.

Halifax cash ISA's.

a fixed rate Halifax ISA Saver, paying a great rate of 5.80% AER/gross p.a. (for a five year term), or
a variable rate Halifax ISA Saver, paying up to 4.60% AER/gross p.a. (on balances of £24,000 or more)
also, Halifax ISA Saver Direct pays up to 5.15% AER/gross p.a with a min opening balance of £1

Three different rates......GRRRRRR.....

Halifax 7% odd rate is really a bit of con to get new customers- you can only save so much each month, and I think the 7% is only for 1year. ING is the best due to great real rate of 5% and no gimmicks, instant access etc.

Oh and if you go Halifax youre also funding their adverts with that annoying tosser in - so surely a good enough reason alone not to use Halifax products!!

No, according to Halifax's website it's only 4.90% - so the ING product still has the edge over the Halifax's.
