My boss is a W****R!
I am sick and tired of my boss. He is a petty, stuck up little Hitler......
Anyway, I have decided to look for a new job as I am sick of his head up his ar*e attitude so.......
does anyone know any good websites for getting IT jobs?
I am based in Middlesex so am ideally placed to work either in London or outside and as I am renting and looking to move out of my rented accomodation.
Please help before I go mad!!!!!!!!
I know I am moaning but I actually one of the good guys (I promise!)
Thanks everyone,
HomerJ.

Those are the best ones IMO - you should be able to sort yourself out with something fairly easy if youre near London.

see if there is an online version of your local newspaper, it'll probably have a jobs section.

I have found jobserve to be the best for IT related. However its seems to be just a way of getting agencies in contact with you. My last two jobs have been via Jobserve but neither were the advert i responded to.
Get your CV sorted a good CV is VITAL. Send it to me via PM if you like and i'll let you know what i think. I manage a team of techies and i can assure you i'm not a w**ker boss

they have all the jobs advertised throughout the jobcentres nationally, and are updated daily. You can put in your postcode and how many miles you wanna travel and what type of work you wanna do and it brings them up

I hate IT job sites. and IT job hunting in general.
Every job posted is some clueless agency with a script that resubmits them every day so that they show up in your search as new. The job for a trilingual helldesk post for 12K is still being submitted as far as I can tell despite the fact that anyone trilingual could get a non-helldesk job for much higher money.
Then if you do get the agencies to talk to you the cluelessness really starts. In February 2000 they rejected one of my applications because I did not have 4 yyears Windows 2000 experience. Duh! think about it for a minute will you.
Then they insist on CVs in word format when you are applying for unix jobs, though these days I get around this problem by saving it as an rtf file and renaming it to .doc. Word handles it fairly quietly and they're too stupid to notice.
GoJobSite has at some point lost the search terms I had saved and now sends me nightly 2meg emails.
Does anyone know of a jobsite that does not allow agencies to participate?
My advice, even if your boss is a w@nker, just put up with it as it's less stressful than trying to get an IT job in this eejit filled market.
And lastly, does anyone else look at the gojobsite name or URL and read it as Gobsh|te the first time?

LOL at nojob****e.co.uk been there, done that, got the spam mails to prove it
From my experience with gojobsite, it's used by recruitment companies to "scrape out the barrel" and provide extra candidates for their clients when they can't find anyone or enough people who are on their own books.
I made a mistake of putting the word "military vehicles" in my personal interest/hobbies, low a behold I get inundated with calls/e-mails offering HGV/plant fitters/mechanics which are completely irrelevent to the job criteria I initially set out (industrial mechanical/electonic control systems +IT)
Plenty of other BS websites out there in addition to job****e, eg career engineer, amongst many.

Thanks for all the comments though everyone. I have had a good laugh if nothing else.
If anyone is interested (or any prospective employers out there!), I have posted my CV so if you have any comments (without being too cruel), then let me know!

erm
here is a alternative approach. you work in IT, dump a load of child **** on his PC/Laptop report him for jerking off whilst viewing it and get someonel alse to back you up.
he will be out before you can say auf wiedersein.
you never know you might get a promotion too.
Ive always got my IT positions through jobserve and 2 out of 3 were actually the ones advertised. but then i work in very specific fields. Good Luck.
p.s if you are anywhere near reading / maidenhead and know solaris / linux java & JS php html, resin, oracle ES & RAC also IP & ATM networks, and are willing to travel all over the world for short periods and possibly a couple of months at a time PM me my place is always looking for good people.

My advice would be to concentrate on finding adverts where companies advertise directly and have as little to do with agencies as possible!!!
