Question Brighton - good places to eat?

Any recommendations/suggestions for good restaurants and/or "dining pubs" within 10/15 mins walking distance of seafront/pier area would be much appreciated.

Needs to somewhere that's open on Monday evenings, and casual/smart casual rather than overly formal.

Many thanks

Hotel du Vin & Bistro, located in Ship Street, just off the seafront. Have a look here for a sample menu. It has a nice bar area and the restaurant is very good, albeit informal.

Failing that, there are loads of other reasonable restaurants in the Lanes, which is a 2 minute walk from the pier

Yep, I'd recommend the HDV too. Never disappointed.

Thanks guys. It looks excellent - we'll definitely try it.

Any others anyone?

Gars is a good chinese restaurant, Terre a Terre is vegetarian, Havana is a less good HdV, Blanch House (supposed to be excellent, never been there - it's in Kemptown, still close to the pier), plus dozens of bars, pizza joints etc, you are spoilt for choice really.

Have a look here for more places.

The Marina is worth trying as well, lots of trendy bars and restaurants
