Airport parking.......?
Evening all, the family and I are taking a much needed break in Turkey next week. We depart from B'ham airport and I was considering leaving the car in a secured carpark and catch a shuttle to the terminal.
Anyone familier with B'ham airport parking facilities, and any views etc etc..?
I did use a parking facility at Manchester airport a few years ago and noticed that car wasn't locked on return although the car was nowhere as "wired" as this one is, tracker, disclok, Toad alarm and immobiliser etc etc etc...so it wouldn't have been hard to nick anyway!!!!!!
All view appreciated.
Skoosh.
ps: Anyone want any duty-free?

DONT DONT DONT DONT
Mine and several others were stolen from there recently. A failed attempted theft on an RS4 had the guys in balaclavas to his house 3 weeks later.
Search for my STi V stolen thread.
It's best I dont print what I think of NCP here.
D
Edit - the offsite ones where you leave your keys may be a safer bet if you have to.

What he said:
DO NOT PARK ANY DESIRABLE CAR AT BHAM AIRPORT NCP CAR PARKS!!!
There have been 3 threads in general in the past month all having scoobs nicked or attempted theft...plus an Audi mentioned in the "do not leave your address in your car thread".
Do not think about it. Unless you can get some volenteers together armed with baseball bats to lie in wait, because I can guarentee they'll go for a Scooby if they see one.
I just can't believe it's still blatently happening. Law enforcement? Not round there
Private off-site car parks may be better. But do not go near those NCP car parks!

Ali the coppers were purposefully keeping an eye on our Scoobs. They were even watching mine before it went as they were saying stuff like 'you'd put 17" multispokes on it hadn't you'. Security should be the burden of those making £60 a week x 3000...(£180k pw and 5 staff to pay....)

alternative would be to stay in a hotel overnight the night before and leave the car there for the week.. some offer a free weeks parking.. but who knows if that is any better.. might be better to factor into the cost of the weeks break a hire car, or taxi / train either way.
