Perhaps he thought he'd get it back on the grass..... The chuff had no idea, surely a RWD car'd be better suited?
Ive never understood why 'drifting' is touted as motorsport; its twatting about in a car ffs, it belongs in a deserted carpark.

I didnt pay that much attention; if it was a RWD car then the man looks an even bigger fool.....
I have to disagree about the skill required to 'drift'; I learnt in a go-cart in a wet field when I was 9 or 10, its just practice; racecraft is something else.

I thought he looked like he totally cocked it up what ever car it was.
Pretty much anyone can drift a go-kart but a car with all the weight transfer, steering lock, diffs & gears to contend with make it a totally different game. I used to have a 100cc two stroke kart pushing out nearly 30bhp & that was a proper handful in the wet but a piece of **** to control compared to a real car that you are trying to drift.
each to their own I guess

It was a nasty bump
I thought Mike Wood was at this event, in a WR1 but didn't show it

I went to that event, got a film clip of the accident from another angle and some photos.
Apparently the driver was Alastair McQueen a past winner of the event !! He said he was going for it all or nothing, unfortunately he was going far too fast and crashed.
