Best carrier for flight to Perth
Hi all,
Am going out to Perth (Aus not Scotland) after xmas to visit a friend. Anyone got any good suggestions for airlines with decent legroom/prices etc as will be travelling cattle class . Looked at Emirates so far with a stop off in Dubai for £588. Can you get direct flights from UK????

Emirates are very very good. Have relatives that are from Oz and they go back every year to Sydney or Perth and always go Emirates.
I have flown Singapore Airlines to Sydney and Brisbane a few times. They are also very good and you get the most legroom in economy.
Wife has had bad experiences with BA and Qantas.

P.S Cupra - that APR remap is awesome mate. Grin factor 9 captain....

P.S. Singapore Airlines will stop in (you guessed it) Singapore. I would advise straight through on the way out and a nights stopover on the way back (shopping on Orchard Road is awesome - apparently its a national sport !!!!).
Pretty sure you cant get a straight through.
LHR - Singapore is around 12.5 hours and Singapore - Perth is about 5 hours.

Holy kack, just got a quote on Singapore's web site and they want £1047!!! Think I know which one I'm going to be going with. I wonder if they'll give me discount if I fly in a Gooner shirt

I flew a few years ago with Royal Brunei. I had to phone them for a price, they gave me a price, then told me to phone their recommended agent as I'd get a cheaper fare, and it was substantially cheaper.
Disadvantage is that they stop several times, locations dependent on the route, but will be Saudi or Dubai, and Bander Seri Begawan, which unless it has been changed hjas to be seen to be believed. Total contrast with Dubai as it is so small. On my trip back from Perth I had a 20 minute transfer window there, and was told be everyone "no chance" however its only about 50 metres across the airport!
Advantage of stopping is that you get the chance to get off the plane and stretch your legs, which is nice.
Having said all that £588 for Emirates sounds like a real bargain!
