recommend a DigitalCamera sub £200
help needed
my Kyocera fincam S3L
has stopped taking pix!!!! I can view Pix on the screen, but when you go to take pic the screen is BLACK!! thi smakes me think the Lense has gave up the ghost.
rang Jacobs camera shop and they say repair costs could be £150+
and its better value to buy new with ayear warranty etc.
So... what camera can i get that matches what i've had £200 or less.. spec needs to be better than the one above.. so no less than 4million MP's etc.
Needs to take good night pix.. so i can get NEON pix on cars good etc
Movie and sound an advantage too.
I would like to keep with the SD cards i hav now.. so that will make use of what i already have.
needs to be small as i can slip it ina pocket and not looking like a house brick lol
Help please
Phil

Okay it's 3.2MP, takes CF cards, not sure about night pix yet, but I've recently bought a Canon A75 from ebuyer (£134 at the moment).
Quite impressed with it so far. Lots of manual modes as well as point n shoot. A85 is 4MP IIRC.

You never mentioned you wanted SD card only
You never mentioned you wanted a small camera
They will all work with rechargeables, some will come with a non-standard rechargeable, but you can buy more from the manufacturer or off the web somewhere.
Have a look on http://www.dpreview.com and look for something that matches everything you want

Move away from SD cards then and get yourself one of the Ixus'.
Sorry, when you said you'd like to stay with SD, I didn't take it as a definite
Why not get another Kyocera?

cus the one at £199 is the same as mine with 3.2million MP even now!! so 1yr out of date on technology, and the 5million MP is nearer £300.
I have SD cards and the reader for the lap top.. so didn't want to waste what have.
Or i'd go to the Sony CyberShot that Jacobs have on offer just to them with 4.1million mp... £149!!

Steve.. will do, its just a bit complicated how do work the software to down load now. the last software was a lot easier to get your pix stored where you like.
Took some pix last night.. came out great. pix will follow.

I never bothered installing the software. I just treat mine as a removable file system and navigate it like a hard-disk. Just drag the files off and stick them somewhere on the PC
I bought Kath an Ixus 430 for her birthday. These cameras really are good and take smashing photos. I assume the photos were some neon ones so you could gauge the initial image quality? It'd be interesting to see how they come out so get them posted up (when you've started understanding the software )
