Selfishness
What is wrong with being selfish? Apart from a sense of well being associated with sharing and helping others, why bother?
Serious question BTW.
Is there any reason 'Mr Remortgage' shouldn't drive his X5 and not give to charity? Or that another person 'drives on' (In reference to the sidcup thread)
'Do as you would be done by' is a rule I live by. I just don't expect special treatment.

Well, to give you a serious answer, I suppose nothing is wrong with it.........it was, after all thye crede by which a whole generation were brought up under the Thatcher Government, who brought selfishness to a higher artform:
It's OK if that's how you want to be, but does rather fall down if you need someone else's help, which, of course, would NOT be forthcoming if we were all selfish.
I'm a great believer in "do as you would be done by", but in my case it means I try NOT to be selfish, and to be kind, and it ain't always easy!

There's nothing wrong with being a shellfish. I guess they bother being shellfish because they like living in the fishy deep and partying with other crustaceans.
