The guy with the beard, is a millionaire and owns the park.
They all had various problems in their life and went to the same counselling sessions.
He took them all away from modern life and all its evils by moving into the park and living like mormons in the 19th century.

so the old people know about this, but the younger ones, who were born there dont.
so why let the girl go for medical supplies, there is a danger she may find this out?

That was what the big argument was about amongst the elders, and they took the chance with her being the blind one that she would see less evil and temptation that everyone else. As it happens she thinks she killed one of the monsters so her belief is actually stronger now.

I thought it was a reasonable film, although I had figured out both the twists before the watching it. I couldn't see why one of the elders didn't go and get the supplies as they would have been able to function and appear normal in the modern world, and it would have kept the risks of discovery from both outside and inside to a minimum.

woaahhh
i thought its the blind girl's grandfather, (bearded man's dad) that owns the park.
anyway if the "elders" were worried the youngsters will find out,
THEY should go out themselves.
any way i think its a cr@p film

signs and unbreakable and this one are all by the same writer they were all weird,
the sixth sense was as well, i never made to the end of that but it was supposed to be good, maybe thats why he's got the backing to do the rest but he's maybe run out of ideas?

I dont really know how you can say hes run out of ideas or that its disapointing and uninteresting. Each and every one of his films has been unique and individual. Theyre always full of suspense and keep you guessing as to whats going to happen next.
How many other films of recent years can you say that have done that? Each of them are hard to catorgrise because they dont fit into the moulds that hollywood films are producing at the moment.

I have to say I enjoyed all of these (village, unbreakable, signs and 6th sense)....
Also - The Elders couldn't go, because they'd made a pact not to leave the village - they let her go because they decided that the village was in aid of peace and not going would simply be allowing a different set of 'de-values' rule....

yeah but they made rules NOT to leave the village, they also made rules to NOT allow the young ones to know or leave the village,
Oh well rules are made to be broken i guess.
i didn't get to finish to the ending of unbreakable.
so don't know what it was about really.,
i only got to I think either BW was testing how strong he was by pulling weights.
OR when SLJ went to find him
signs was ok. until you get to see the alien which i thought was dissapointing.
sixth sense i loved BUT there is something i asked everyone and no one could answer..
remember the bit when BW was sitiing in the lounge
opposite the mother. when the kid came back from school/.
1, how did BW get IN the house if the mother didn't let her in,
2, why wouldn't BW introduce himself,if he got in himself.
3, as a doctor, shouldn't they talk about the child's condition.
