Asking out girls you work with
Good idea or bad idea?
Shes one of our field force, get on like a house on fire.................but then she might be like that with every bloke? My thinking was I wont see her or talk to her that much if she says "no chance" so not too much to lose, on the other hand when I do have to speak to her...........

On balance I'd say go for it - however, a similar thing happened with me at a previous job. i.e. Got on like a house on fire with one of the girls, lived nearby, took the same train to work etc.. After a while we get together, but only after I'd found out that she'd been out with my colleague (and I'd only been at the firm for 3 or 4 weeks!) - had to keep it a bit quiet!

dont do it man. if things go to bad, it will be majorly awkward. dont **** on your own doorstep as they say.
there are millions of other women out there that you dont work with. go for one of them instead.

ADP,
I am almost in a position to give first hand knowledge, I sit on a committe in the village here, there's this woman, (isn't the always!) anyway, we get on great, she comes on to me big time, I flirt back, we end up in the sack! she's married, with kids, four weeks later after a few 'indiscretions', it's all over, I feel like poo, I still talk, and worst of all, we're still both on this damn committee, my advice would be don't do it, but if both parties are single it might not be too much of an issue, but if it goes pear-shaped it'll be hell mate!
Your choice!

Wait until there's about 3 or 4 other people there, and then saying "does anybody fancy a drink after work". Its the sort of thing workmates of either gender might say to each other. She won't read too much into it. If she goes, then you can concentrate on conversation mostly with her. You have the advantage of surprise. You can manipulate the conversation any way you want without her suspecting your intentions. If she isn't interested then it should quickly become apparent. That way there should be no awkward situation at work should she prove to be uninterested in taking it further.
Devious or what!

been there done that and it is very difficult if it doesnt work out especially if it ends on a bad note. Can mean changing jobs, not much fun if you like where you are working.

How big is the place you work ???
I 'saw' a few girls when I worked at Hewlett-Packard (approx 2000 on site) and afterwards was only slightly awkward if you happened to see them at lunch .. so no worries.
I also 'saw' about 6 of the 10 female members of staff over about 3 years in a place that had about 40 people in total (some permanent, some student staff) when I was a student ... don't go there Seeing the boss wasn't my best idea but we really liked each other but it got complicated ... one of the students I went out with really broke my heart
Up to you but I'd advise against it ..
Doofus.

I'd say go for it....at the absolute worse she'll say "i don't think it's a good idea" but she'll be flattered and it shouldn't bugger up any friendship or make work difficult, just play it relaxed.
Actually, the worst she'll say is "No way you f**kin freak, help i'm being sexually harrassed in the work place" but i don't think that will happen
