Yup, i've got one and i love it. Toyed with getting an ixus 400 too, thought sod it, and got the one i wanted. Looked at buying from overseas to save some £££, but ended up with one from a local dealer. Don't have to worry about customs and warranty etc.

Takes great pics and has loads of functions that I have only just brushed the top of.

Check this site for good reviews.

Hi, had mine about 4 weeks, its a very easy camera to use and with great quality pictures. For example, novice underwater photographer like moi, was getting this type of quality at 30 odd feet down

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...h/Img_0067.jpg

Purchased mine from http://www.digitaldepot.co.uk got an excellent deal..

I do not believe you will be making a mistake if you get one

Cheers

The Ixus range is fabulous, good quality pictures with simple controls, small and solidly built, the best camera in its range bar none .......................

thats what i had hoped, but not in wycombe they werer not competitive, i paid approx 313 at digital depot for the IXUS 500 (270ish) with 256MB CF, Jessops in Wycombe wanted 378 plus i would have had to shell out extra for the memory..

Believe a good place to start would be http://www.pricerunner.co.uk

They seem to be able to pinpoint some of the best buys

Cheers

Personally, I would save your money and buy the IXUS 430. Every bit as good as the 500, just with a 4MP sensor. Unless you like printing very large pictures, you won't really need a 5MP sensor.

Bought my 430 for £220 online.

Great camera, highly recommended, took the plunge myself, via Amazon, cant remember the price, but certainly cheapest I could find at the time.

It does look good, but it also benefits from Canon quality throughout, so it is "not just a pretty face".

Go for it, treat yourself.
