Neighbours, don't you just love 'em
A couple of weeks back I did an oil change on the old Corrado. It was quite a windy day, and I didn't notice at first but as the stream of draining oil petered out the wind began to deflect it away from my catchment container leaving a small (6" dia) patch of oil on the road. Then, as I poured the oil from the container into an old 5l bottle in readiness for taking it to the tip, the funnel was blown aside resulting in another patch of oil (8-10" dia). I immediately treated both patches with concrete/sand to soak it up and as it was late and getting dark I left it to finish the next day. It was very wet for several days following and the oil and concrete have left a slight mess which will probabaly be visible until it naturally errodes away in I'd guess about 2-3 months.
This morning I gets a letter telling me I've been reported for DUMPING WASTE OIL AND USED CAR PARTS. Well I'm sorry, but I dumped nothing. I had an accident, and IIRC may have left the old filter next to the wall overnight. The next day the 5l bottle and the old filter were taken to the tip, as per usual. The letter even stated that I may be fined £20,000 and be imprisonned for upto 6 months if I fail to effect a suitable clean-up. Well FU I cleaned it up as soon as I did it but due to the nature of the substances involved it may leave temporary marks.
I am as conscious to my environment as is possible for an everyday guy (not some tofu sandal wearing vegan whinger) and would be a little perturbed if someone else had done this near to my home. But as a rational and reasonable person I think I'd have taken note of the attempted remedial efforts and considered the act as unfortunate but not deliberate. At worst I may have spoken to the person face to face, unlike the spineless whining to55pots I live near who write to the council if a bird $hits on their washing.
Why are people so unreasonable, inconsiderate, unforgiving, indignant, arrogant, ignorant, impersonal and un-neighbourly these days ? I can't wait to move now, come on Mr. Solicitor, pull your finger out.

I know which one it was. Same one who reported me for leaving my wheelie bin on the street for 3 days (whilst I was having considerable building work done on the only area it could normally reside), same one who was threatened with prosecution by the police for intimidating my G/F for 18 months , same one who sells counterfeit sportswear without declaring the profits to the taxman

Happens too easily on an oil change, I had the same problem with the wind that you had but on my own tarmac. The oil stain soon disappears anyway. these busybodies are the bitter end. Must have been "sneaks" at school.

I got a bit upset today, we live in a quiet (well should be) cul de sac, kid up the road has an Electric Scooter which I can cope with even if its isnt legal, what I cant cope with is the horn being blown till 11pm,beep beep beep for hours on end, today I was cleaning a car and it was really winding me up, this kid who used to live next door was on it, I asked nicely if he would mind laying off the horn, so he continues, no respect the little ****, goes past doing it even more so I said again to lay off the horn so he goads me again and stops in front of me doing it, at this point I emptied a bucket of car wash water over the little ***** head, not amused !
Next time he gets engine oil.

Nice move. Probably get some irate parent come to tell you off later though, which is good as you will have the perfect opportunity to tell them what a cr*p job they do of parenting.

Got a result on the original trouble. Guy from the council is perfectly satisfied with my explanation of events and the efforts made to rectify the accidental spillage and there will be no further action. Best bit is, he's served the whining biatch with a section 47 notice regarding her waste disposal. She's been using a domestic wheelie bin for her commercial waste, a green recycling one at that, and leaving it on the roadside for the last eight years. From now on she'll have to arrange her own refuse collection and pay for it RESULT
