Is it necessary to balance rear wheels?
I have recently put 19s on my BMW e46 coupe....and the whells were only balanced at the front...I was told theres no need to do the rears...is this right....the car drives fine but Id hate to have those pricey 19" rubbers wearing prematurely..............any advice?

I think you onlt need to do the front on front wheel drive cars. Main dealer always balances front and rear on my BM

I think it is well worth doing all the wheels, you might not feel the back ones being out of balance, but if they are the tyres will wear more as you say.

Technically, out of balance wheels will wear your suspension and shocks....in turn wearing out your tyres.
So they do need to be done
