Default Crossbows

Does anyone know if these are still legal in the UK?

I was thinking of getting one for target practice.

Hello

Wow they are expensive!

Does anyone know if I can bring one back from America? Whether customs (or the airlines) will get upset with me?

Thanks,

Steve

Can't play with my shotguns in the back garden, it'd make too muh noise!

Crossbows are better for in the garden..

These are cheaper than the others though

yes, a 320 grain weight crossbow bolt at 350 fps is knocking on for 90 ftlbs. To own an air rifle over 12ftlbs requires a firearms cert.

but for £300 you can buy something legally that is capable of killing someone at 60yds , ok, you cant compare it to a firearm in terms of speed and reloading, but its still a dangerous piece of kit in the hands of a nutter, IMHO the ownership of these should be licenced

I agree-I can't see any reason for owning these today unless for sport and in controlled conditions.Too easy for them to get into the wrong hands.
