Cool Owning a Scooby is NOT going to help you here!

Man disproved police speed claim

A man accused of driving at 115mph on a motorway had the charges dropped when he proved his car was not capable of reaching such a speed.

Law student Lucas, 20, was charged after driving his 1.2 litre Fiat Punto on the M62 in West Yorkshire.

He agreed he reached 85mph, but said the 115mph claim was "laughable".

Thumbs down

makes you wonder how many other people have been convicted of speeding when they are innocent.

Like that road in Wales where the Police false prosecuted 1000's of people for breaking a limit that actually was not legal and when they were caught out did the police go back and give people their money back and take the points off the licence did they heck left it for people to appeal each charge, if they even knew that they were wrongly convicted.

Its a real worry that it can happen like that. Big difference between 85 and 115! I wonder how the police can explain that one.

Depends on which gearbox you have. There was a similar case whereas a rally car was being driven on the road between stages (legally) and the cops claimed he was breaking the limit on motorway (by a lot) .Mechanics and experts proved that it wasnt possible. Police had wrists slapped.
