Question Spray Painting Guide

After some little ****** stole the scooter i use for commuting last week, and stratched it to crap i need to respray the side panel.

I can get the matched paint in spray cans but i would really like everyone's advice on steps to get a good finish (filling, rubdown, priming, painting, laquer etc)

Cheers

J

Spray the colour in several coats allowing time before each coat. Give it a lacquer top coat even if it's a solid colour. Then rub the lacquer with a mild cutting compound for best results. That's the only way you'll get a decent shine.
I'm sure there are plenty of decent tutorials on the net - do a google search!

Start off using wet n dry to sand it down. Making your way down to a really fine grade. (use warm soapy water).
Let dry and prim the panel and sand it down with a really really fine grade wet n dry.
Spray paint over building up layers.
when dry lacquer.

just a quick guide.
