Default Surroundsound speaker recommendation for use with Sky+

Looking to get a surround sound speaker set-up to plug into my Sky+ box and DVD player (not an expensive player).

Wasn't looking to spend too much. Any recommendations?

Either of these?

Have you had a look at: Richer Sounds

I only needed 5 passive speakers, with an active subwoofer as I already have an AV amp and I ended up buying the Yamaha set for £80. Very impressed for the money!!

Why not give the new new jvc 7:1 speakers a go, i have them on my sky+ and dvd player and they are very good.... they are about £500 with a dvd player or 350 without.. if you are after something a little cheper the new videologic 7:1 suround speaker kit is very good and is around £100

Thanks for the replies

Is this the videologic speaker kit you mentioned? http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/...862071-3949413

Don't you need an amp?

Richard.

Looks like the kind of setup where the amp is built in to the bass unit - bit like a PC speaker set up.

Just ordered the Sony HT-K250. Retail price is £300 (on sale in Comet at this price) but Empire Direct was selling them for £149.99 with free delivery.

Thing that swung it was the review in What Home Cinema mag in April 04. They get it 96% rating and that was at the £300 price!
