Default Car valeting?

Have you every had someone turn up to your company car park and offered to wash your cars for you?
Would love it if some1 come round every friday.
I think that could be a nice little business for someone. £5 per car.

Ouch, you'd let some muppet wash your car? One bit of grit in their wash cloth/chamois means your car is covered in tiny scratches.

That did cross my mind.
What about the pros that charge £25?

yep. the bloke who does mine is very meticulous. it's certainly better than driving a dirty car all the time. if i could drive two cars to work, i'd have him do the wife's as well. no-doubt he'd want more for sorting out her mobile handbag, though.

What does the £25 include?

£25 is what he calls a "half valet":

shapoo car
chamois dry
clean wheels
dress tyres
vaccum inside
clean glass inside
wipe down dash & trim.

takes him about an hour per car, with two people working on it.

He does them once a month. If it's a car that he hasn't done before, or that a woman drives , he charges an extra £5.

full valet includes waxing etc, costs £50.

I haven't yet!! It's still clean from when I picked it up on Tuesday. I'll be giving it a good going over on Sunday.

Mark the Wax Wizard is the only person I'd let clean my car! I don't even let dealers clean my cars after a service.

I've mentioned before - people like to see the back of me....

'Big Mick' Does mine.

£12.50 for a wash, bit more for a hoover. £100 for full valet & Diamond Bright.

He is very careful with his work, and does a great job.

Aslong as you get a GOOD valeter (hard to find) you will be OK.

Try to go on personal recommendations....

Problem with mobile guys is that they rarely use a tap and a hose - just a bucket, so all the filth of the last car is used on yours. Even if they use clean water every time, they are still using it on your car "dry" - to avoid scratches you must loosen all the dirt and grime with a good soak with a hose before sponging.

The only way to achieve this is to take it to a drive in hand car wash jobbie. Trial and error (and checking the other cars using it) will normally ensure you find a good place - and get a fantastic job done for a tenner.

Avoid any place that sprays your dash with that filthy spray on gloss cleaner. Anyone who uses that knows f*ck all about what a clean car should look like!

Do you mean Silicone spray. Orrible stuff that makes everything sticky and is particularly harmful to your lungs.

Exactly! Horrible stuff from the Swiss Tony school of polishing a turd. Normally found on a '95 Mondeo 1.6 LX with 893,000 miles on the clock on the forecourt of Frank's Autos.

What to look for?
A valet company that has a clean garage not a drive by van?

It's prob safer than the chamois - less likely to trap dirt. Much quicker, too.

There's a mobile valeter comes to my place of work twice a week.
He has a few vans with different equipment depending on the job required.
Prices are quite reasonable too;
Jet wash and wheel clean only £3
Half valet £15
Full valet £30

...and he uses Zymol products

I spilled a 4 litre container of oil over the back seat and carpet. He did a really good job of cleaning it. At 6 grand for the cleaning machine I should hope so too. He spent an hour and a half on it and only charged £15.

i had a local place that came and collected the cars, £30 for a proper job. couldnt fault it and they even made sure the nova driving kids that collected the cars drove them back nice and slow to avoid any puddles! (they always thrashed the TVR on the way to the cleaners though! and why not.......i would!)
