Get the D&K Eyewitness guide to Prague, it's very useful. The architecture is stunning, very impressive churches & places to visit also good quality classical concerts just about every night. Charles bridge is my favourite, but just wander around the old town & the Jewish quarter. There's also some nice parks & a zoo. The whole place is very romantic. The trolleybuses are easy to use as is the metro. If you're a party person though, I can't help you.

The old quarter is very beautiful, lots of blokes wanting to change your money for you...it's illegal. beers quite cheap, apartments near the old square are good as the hotels can be a bit further away, try www.travel.cz
Lots of stag do's and hen parties....can be entertaining in itself just sitting at cafe's and watching them. I loved it and will be going back again, never walked so much in my life before, Legends sports bar to watch the footie....and if your other half likes to shop she will love it.

Thanks all. I will be sure to try the odd Staropramen or two and may well bring some Absinthe home (Purely for medicinal reasons) Friends have given me a "Local Guide" to Prague which I have had fun leafing through, the evening River Dinner looks like a good idea, as does the Old Town; Wenceslas Square etc. ! ** Nick ** D&K Guide to Prague ?? Is that an abbreviation or will the local book shop know what I am asking for
