Yoza,
Of course, the toxin isn't going to affect all, nor be present in all rice. It depends on a bacteria being present first...and this may or may not have been present in his rice in the fridge. Difficult to tell without analysing the rice.
It's a bit like eggs - some contain salmonella, which means a lot of people refuse to eat them raw. That doesn't mean that if you DO eat a raw egg, you'll get salmonella.
Given matty01 is not wanting to be ill in the following few days, it's probably best he avoids any risk of getting food poisoning by not reheating it.....

It's also like eColi. This can be present occassionaly in raw meat, but some still choose to eat steak tartare for example. However, only a few may pick up eColi from eating raw meat.
You know the risk, you take the chance.....

I've started to shy away from reheated rice after the last few comments on SN, despite the fact I must have eaten it every now and then for 15 years with apparently no side-effects. And my Asian wife scoffs at the idea of toxins - and the Asians know more about rice than Europeans, I'd have thought?
Imlach, you're not Edwina Currie are you?

I've cooked rice, let it cool, then cooked it again as a special fried rice. I used to freeze half but my misses told me you should never heat rice more than twice. I didn't argue as she's a dietician
