I think they would be ok although there could be a chance of a bad reaction. I would be safe and stick to basic antiseptics like hydrogen peroxide, or simply saline solution.
Better still ask your vet!

NOT a vet but I am sure the answer is yes as most drugs etc used on animals are developed from those used on humans. Except you might need to bandage to prevent mutt licking it off. Dilute saline would be best and then check in at vets with cheque book Agree with ajm apart from peroxide.

I'd check with the vet, dogs can be sensitive to many human medications and vice versa. That's not to say I disagree with David, but just to make the point they are not 100% compatible. Bit like chocolate is poisonous to dogs

mj - yes, human chocolate is poisonous to dogs. Bob Martins etc are a special recipe.
And I have to do this (as I am usually a resident of the Muppet hutch AND I'm rather drunk as I've had a PARTICULARLY bad day) but:
In answer to the question"can you use human cream on a dog?" Yes, as long as the RSPCA don't find out...

Our dog ate chocolate, lived to 14 (Golden Lab)
Peanuts are poisonous to Cockatiels.
Edit: Our dog ate anything actually - shoes, sofas, clothes, fish & chips

Best thing to do would be to snip the hair around the cut and clean it with a strong salt/water concoction.
I did this on one of my cats and a fairly deep cut as it wasn't serious enough to call out the vet, but did need looking at. So I trimmed the area and bathed it, kept her inside and it stayed clean and healed very well.

Yeah, I've never understood the chocoloate thing. Our families had loads of dogs and they all lived to a ripe old age and ate chocolate all the time
OK, they only got small bits when we were eating so maybe it's poisonous in large quantities.

Also beware of the coconut based chippings for the garden, they are not good for a dog, in part due to a posinous effect, but also due to the fibrous nature and it blocking the gut.
And then there is raw hide chews....
...Yup serious, but in all honesty, same as for humans, keep thing in moderation and avoid things that are an obvious hazard.

Apparantly you should never give your dog chocolate. It contains theobromine, a chemical that is toxic to dogs. My vet goes into a proper flap if you mention giving your dog chocolate.

Yup - the NCDL were in town not long ago handing out leaflets, as I said above it is about 500g for a Lab sized dog.

And my gran regulary fed her pet rat <ahem> sorry Yorkshire Terrier chopped up Kit kats almost daily for years on end. And the yapping nipping thing lived to be 18 years old
The experts may say it's poisonous, which no-one denies. But it's obviously not fatal (unless that rat was supposed to live to 30years )

Its meant to be dark chocolate thats bad for them. They say its too rich for them and too much of it can make them ill. If your worried about putting cream on your dogs paw to stop infection put a bit of vasaline on his paw. It stops infection getting in and with it being waterproof the dog cant lick all of it off. We had to do this when my dog split stitches in his leg a while ago as the vet knows what hes like for licking cream off he advised to use this instead.

my dog had a skin complaint, so thought I better use a low allergy shampoo on him; best place to get the shampoo I thought was the Body Shop.
However, all their products were labelled 'not tested on animals' - so that was no use.
