Canvassers
[rant=on]
When you're advertising a car in the Autotrader and you have "No Canvassers" written in the text of the advert. Why do they still insist on calling you up to offer to "put your car in their magazine" or "introduce to you a long list of waiting buyers"???!
FFS i've just paid to advertise it in the Autotrader, if i'd wanted it in their magazine i'd have called them.
Idiots.

i agree, worst bit is you get all excited about having a potential buyer as they ask to speak to the person selling the car, then say its motorfinance direct or soemthing else f*cking useless.
Then well you tell them you dont need their service they get all ar5y 6 times the called me and i need to re advertise the car but dont want to put it in the autotrader now because of it

agreed.
these people are utter sh*theads.
last time i advertised in autotrader, i got loads of calls from car data and some other sh*te company, and precisely zero calls from any genuine buyers.

"Well you prats, if you didn't understand/want to do what I asked you in the first advert, why should I trust you to understand / do what I want to do for anything else?"
They'll probably say they listen better if you pay them

Yeah, these a**holes really wound me up too.
I just started telling them that the car was sold, if they're gonna lie to me by telling me that they've got 4,349 buyers waiting to buy my car, then I'm perfectly justified in telling them it's sold when it isn't

Glad it's not just me then! I wish i'd thought of some more creative abuse to scream at them down the phone other than "not interested - goodbye" and hanging up. Then again, it's not the fault of the callcentre monkey is it - i guess everyone's got to earn a living.
I'd hate to do that job though, you'd need skin as thick as a Rhino!
Yup, sadly i am. I need something a little more sensible and cheaper to run as i'm moving house shortly.
Looking at a new Mini Cooper

PS. That's what i was doing on saturday, driving round the area looking for houses with "To Let" signs outside them.
