Just saw Gordon ****ing Ramsey
He’s in town for a book signing. He’s quite personable in real life. Big ugly bugger though. He reckons England will loose tonight.

He's good fun at a (bike) trackday, has to be said, and reasonably quick as well. Exactly as you'd imagine him - direct, funny, takes the ****, very driven.
And what's wrong with any of that?

Maybe his character is portrayed worse on TV but of what I've seen he comes across as a total ****.
I think he is a **** but maybe I'd say it to his face, maybe I wouldn't - depends on how much of a **** he really is.

i used to work for him in "the restaurant" many moons ago, and believe me, the hells kitchen show didnt show him in his true light, he was very mello in that show!!
I remember one particular time, where a pot wash guy hadnt got him a copper pan in time, and it fcuked a main up, he was not impressed and told him very plainly in front of everyone. that wasnt the bad bit!
the pan that he had failed to clean for him then got a weeks worth of sugar cremation and every other nasty substance you can imagine baked onto it, till it was just a very hard nasty mess.
he then continued to throw the pan at the pot washes head, and it made good contact, and when he got up ramsey insisted that if the pan wasnt clean within the next 10 mins he was sacked. the pot wash threw it at him, and ramsey sacked him and pressed charges!!
nice guy. not!!

from the way he speaks 2 people i think he's a **** too. if he spoke to me like that i'd give it him back with interest. dick.
it seems working in a kitchen entitles you to belittle others as ive witnessed this in other restaurants.

But for the people able to tolerate his methods, there's the opportunity to become a world-renowned chef, no? I'd certainly think twice before walking off in a hissy fit just because i didn't like the way he spoke to me. In my line of work, some of my most valuable lessons were learned when i was being yelled at. Looking back, i was yelled at, belittled, call it what you will, for a reason. Did me no long term damage and made me better at what i do (arguing about cats, mostly!! ).

i wouldnt and couldnt work with someone who talks to people like that simple as that. lots of people reach the top of their trade without being nasty. buts thats probably part of his 'attraction' as it makes good telly. i just know i'd lose it with him.
