Any fleet managers about? Have to choose a company car...
Hi,
I'm wondering if there are any fleet managers about who can recommend good reliable company cars for everyday use. The Boss thinks I'm a car nut and has asked me what I'd choose!
Basic requiremants are that they must/should be:
Obviously don't want the BMW label to tarnish us... Seriously, I'll listen to any responses with enough information to back up that choice. Either that or it's Mondeos all round.
Cheers,
Foamy

Basic requiremants are that they must/should be:
- A saloon.
- Good MPG.
- Reasonable servicing intervals/costs.
- Convey a profesional image.
- Be capable of driving clients in reasonable comfort.
- On a good deal for monthy payments.
- Diesel or Petrol.
Obviously don't want the BMW label to tarnish us... Seriously, I'll listen to any responses with enough information to back up that choice. Either that or it's Mondeos all round.

What about a WRX Wagon? I know you'll mention the MPG but I used to get about 25mpg on motorways when mine was standard which compares well to the Omegas and Vectras that I used to run both of which regularly dipped into the low 20s and late teens.

A lot of my recent fleet acquisitions have been Toyota Avensis'. Suspect that the Euro IV compliant diesel unit has something to do with this (our drivers have a very broad selection to choose from) as it helps to minimise the drivers' personal tax liability.
Last asquisition, however, was a Peugeot 407.
Suggest that you're very careful on leasing deals. Many exclude maintenance, and are frequently for only 10,000 miles pa. When you look at a typical company mileage the excess mileage charges could be massive.
Also bear in mind the policy on damage on return. Again you could get clobbered by some very high charges unless the leasing company abides by the industry code.

Thanks guys, all food for thought.
Have been told that a BMW 3 series works out just a couple of pennies to run than a Vectra!
Hugh - could you PM me your thoughts on who offered you the best deals? And what I should tell the boss to look out for in the contracts.
Cheers

The Audi FSI petrols are fantastic on company car tax, and a lot cheaper than bmw's. the new diesels are euro IV as well.
i went for a A3 the A4 isnt bad either.

Decisions, decisions. Thinking of turning up at the local Audi dealer tomorrow to see if they will let me take out an A4 SE and A4 Sport. Read that the SE is the better car. Would like to see for myself.
The local Mitsubishi dealership is right across the road. Been dreaming of a fleet of Evo 8 FQ340s...
What's currently the class leader from the Mondeo and equivalent? I have a feeling the Mazda/Nissan/Honda route will be cheaper on maintenance... may just recommend a simple plodder for the lower staff and then Audis etc for the upper staff.
Hmm... I'll let you know what I find out.
