Best price for an Omega seamster?
The 300m full size auto with leather strap.
In the US retail is $1795.Its £1025 in the UK.
I have a link to a grey market dealer that gives 15% off,but i'm sure i could get that from an authorised dealer ringing around and buying mail order. The price btw is £871
At Atlantictime.com (usa) its £712.(non authorised).
Any advice????

I got my full size Seamaster Auto ( steel bracelet ) from the US by mail order , paid $850 delivered
Atlantictime do not have a good reputation BTW
Dont forget most "grey" watches will have had the serial numbers removed and come without original paperwork ( didn't bother me when I bought mine )

I got 15% off in Watches of Switzerland, and others on here have negotiated similar or bigger discounts on Omega from other shops.
Do lots of ringing round, or visiting the shops. I found they were reluctant to talk discount unless i was sitting there, trying the watch on, and looking like i was going to buy it on the spot.

Go for the Speedmaster it's much better looking. (IMO)
I was torn between Seamaster and Speedmaster until I saw them in the flesh. Then there was no competition.
I went for the Speedmaster Racing with carbon fibre face.
Discounts can be haggled so long as you're not going for one that's in short supply. 15% seems to be the norm and some will do 0% finance on top of the discount so your hard earned can earn a little more while in the bank still! (every little helps).

Hi all,
I don't want to put a dampener on things, but I've had such a run of bad events with my Seamaster (Automatic Chronometer) that I wish I'd never bought one.
The crown and bezel was damaged a couple of years ago (was living in Amsterdam and came off my bike ) which was entirely my fault. I sent the watch for repair via Watches of Switzerland , and despite their best efforts it took nearly four months to come back from Omega (actually Swatch )
Paid 300 hundred quid or so for the repair and service.
Next time I flew abroad and needed to change the time I gently pulled out the crown and it just came off with the spindle still attached. Obviously I wasn't impressed.
Same story with Omega/Swatch - WoS were brilliant, kept in touch, kept hassling Omega for news, but it still took nearly three months for it to come back. At one point WoS put their hands up and said that the Omega customer service was terrible and they'd been given the same excuse/promise three weeks in a row.
Finally got the watch back, with a free service voucher for my inconvenience. There was also a suggestion that the fault was perhaps mine for overtightening the crown, but at their discretion they were not charging for the work.
A week later I was washing the car, screwed in but having not overtightened the crown and the watch filled with water.
Now I've had to send it back AGAIN.
Can't complain for a minute about WoS - they were fantastic and I didn't even buy the watch through them, but I won't be buying an Omega again.

If you fancy a nearly new Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch limited Snoopy award edition, boxed, papers, 18mths warranty left. Been back to Omega straight after i bought it for calibration and is now running perfectly.....let me know
You cant get these cheap, home or abroad and are sure to hold their value more than normal Omegas...

I thought that was a windup, until I remembered that the lunar module on Apollo 10 was called Snoopy (CM was Charlie Brown). Of course they didn't actually land, so it isn't strictly a "moon" watch.

lol i dont know if you dont know what you're on about and are wrong or do know and are having an 'in' joke!
Anyway
Snoopy award is the highest award that NASA can give and the Speedmaster won it when it saved the lives of the Apollo 13 crew. My watch commemerates that. Its a 'moonwatch' cause its the only type of watch to have been worn on the moon and is flight certified for all manned space missions. Now also used by the Russians.

The astronauts used to have some personal effects allowed on missions, and some of them took their own watches for good luck. The speedy pros were the only ones actually certified though, and to this day are still the only ones certified for EVA use.
I have a speedy pro moon watch and it rocks, I wouldn't be without it! Not much chance of it ever going to the moon though.....

Had my seaaster for what must be nearly 5/6 years now. Nothing has run smoother and have had no probs at all. Bought my dad one for his 60th birthday and he has had no probs either.
Got £200 off each just for paying cash at watches of Switzerland (did not buy both at same time though) Ask for a cash discount and see what happens.

I have an Omega Seamaster Chronometer & have worn it for 6 years more or less continuously. It goes diving with me & takes some stick at work as well & has been faultless. Only hassle is the service every 3yrs where it has to go to Switzerland for 6+ weeks.
