Legally adopting a child

All advice gratefully received, but apart from anything else - anyone know how long it takes, start to finish? Any chance I could do it inside two months?

According to this site, anything up to 2 years.

Thanks Jerome, I was just reading through that site as well. Seems to be for a couple of Brits picking a poor Romanian toddler out of an orphanage though, whereas I just want to "officially" adopt the teenager whose mum I married.

I thought it may have been something along those lines - hence the deadline.

You are already the stepfather, does that not give you some sort of legal guardianship? Try reading this.
