Hello
Yes such things exist, I don't know about them being on Ebay. Certainly a search on google should prove fruitful. Like anything of this nature, you have to be quite dedicated to get it to work. And sometimes it just isn't worth the effort.
When I was a child, I used to play with these kind of things: Basically it's a card with a chip. Sky change their encryption SO frequently though. When the encryption changes, you have to find the new algorythm from the internet (or BBS when I used to do it) then either connect your PC to the card and recode the eprom or have an eprom burner to do the same thing. It used to take my days to get the stupid things to work, and then things would change and you'd have to go through it all again. This was a *long* time a go, so perhaps things have moved on, but you have been warned!
Steve.

Dont waste your time, the encrytion is done by another company on behalf of SKY, I know this because my housemate works for them, Id be VERY surprised if there is anything out there to get you many free channels............NTL Telewest etc now that may be a different story

With OnDigital (ITV Digital) this was very easy, as OnDigital chose a very weak encryption which was easily hacked using the remote control on a card....
Sky Digital use a VERY strong encryption however, and AFAIK, it is not crackable in such a straighforward manner.......
I'd be wary of Ebay auctions that said you could crack it, as I think you may be buying into a scam.

i don't think digital can be done, as said above. Used to be the norm with in the analog days, I remember one that you could put your friends card it, and it would basically clone it onto the card you plugged it into. Then just stick that in your analog skybox and away you go.

Hmm....that's interesting. PPV movie bill (counter) is held on the smartcard...
So, wonder if I dig my smart card copier out, and copy my sky card, I can then use the 'free pay per view movies" trick, and when the card is full, I just rewrite the original image on again....
Might copy it just for a laugh and see if the 'copy' works on my own skybox anyway...I know it won't work on another box as card & box are matched in some way.

Ah-ha! The old Elvis programmer eh! I've got one of them.
It's now launched as http://www.topuptv.co.uk/, and as far as I can see, works on the old Nokia OnDigital boxes, hence I'm sure the old methods will still work.
Shame the channel line-up is naff....hardly worth the effort!
