Varies greatly depending on firm/location.
One company within 2 miles was double what I'm paying at Big Yellow.
They've got prices on their website:
http://www.bigyellow.co.uk

only pain is the billing is 4 week, not per cal. month...

Depends on amount, but for my stuff to go into storage it was about £80 - 90 a month... This was all the contents of a small 2 bed flat...

This was a local company in newbury...

Have just done the same - Bishops Move (0207 715 9696). Got them down to £7/container per week. I needed 3 containers for a 3 beddie house - approx £90 month. Insurance is extortionate so I did it via my home contents providers. Very expensive to get access to your stored stuff once it's gone in so be absolutely sure what your requirements are and have a good look round.

I paid £40 per crate per month, but the crate was big enough for 2 piece suite, single bed, dining room furniture, freezer etc...
This included insurance etc.

It all came back in one piece - found the whole experience really good and simple
