Do diesel drivers piss on the bathroom floor

Do diesel drivers **** on the bathroom floor
Is it just me or is it becoming increasingly difficult to fill up with lovely optimax without standing in a pool of diesel. It was much better in the old days when there was one pump well out of the way were the derv boys could spill to there hearts content. I have never owned a diesel and have nothing against them but just want to fill up without treading the stuff in my car and house.
Can we start a campaign to keep at least one pump at every petrol station diesel free.

Hired an IVECO luton van a few months ago, and it was almost impossible to get the diesel into the tank!!
The filler was at such a crappy angle that I had to trickle the diesel in, otherwise it would instantly regurgetate it onto the garage floor (spat out a few drops once, and then reslised what was going on!). Not very comfortable as the filler was about 18" off the floor.
I guess if you drive one of these things daily (and the fuel isn't yours) you could quite happily spill an amount of diesel on the floor, due to the poor filler design.

Is there something about the fuel itself that makes it so messy or is it that we don't notice petrol spillages because it evaporates. I'm not having a go at the drivers(well I am a bit) but at the garage owners who don't bother cleaning up and throwing sand on it doesn't help.

Sand is probably the best thing to mop diesel up with......after leaving it to soak up the spillage.
Diesel melts lots of things, including tyres, soles of shoes etc, hence why spills normally look black.
Once pulled in front of a bus (when it was at a bus stop!) because fuel was pouring out from underneath. I wasn't going particularly fast, but still almost fell off the road at one point while following it. Anyway, passing the same spot a few hours later there was a whole load of sand in the bus stop - guess there must have been a hole in the tank, and thankfully, the driver called for assistance.
very nasty stuff - should be banned!!

Diesel can be safer for you that petrol in some circumstances! My dad's car (diesel) went in for a service, but they didn't reconnect the fuel hose to the engine properly. He was making a longish journey (about 1hr) and 15mins from destination engine cut out and the place stank cos the pipe had come off and was leaking diesel. Had it been petrol, then it was more likely that the fuel would've ignited with the heat. The car then stank of diesel for ages afterwards though.

Hahaha I am running an old Pug 205 diesel at the moment, I NEVER spill any petrol out of the MINI, but this week, I filled up the pug for the first time, and it spilled out of the cap, think it froths up more as I couldn't stop it.
