Default Email from mobile phone- orange

Hi,

Want to set my mobile up to send and receive email. I have an orange email address, which is mynumber@orange.co.uk, but it gets spammed like mad even though i have never used it.

can't send email from my mobile through my btinternet account, so am slightly stumped.

any ideas?

thanks,
simon

Hi m8,

It sounds like Orange are not allowing you to use them as a relay. In simple terms this means they will not let you send e-mail for the domain btinternet through their servers. I have the same problem with T-Mobile, I can receive e-mail for my sillysi.co.uk address but not send any. It's down to the outgoing server you have set up which may be something like smtp.orange.co.uk you could try changing this to the smtp address for btconnect.

Si.

Try smtp.orange.net as the outgoing server. Works for me on a Motorola V600.

As Harry Boy says, just put smtp.orange.net as your outgoing server, then put all your BT email details (address password etc in the incoming server details.
