F%^&*^g ntl
When we had ntl broadband installed Mrs D thought it would be a great idea to set up new e-mail addresses with their system.
Unfortunately it now takes me upwards of half an hour to access & check my e-mails as their server for that side of things is so slow that it makes me wonder if it is connected to the web with a 28k modem
I would have been better of sticking with the freeserve a/c on dial up
PS to any one contemplating ntl, don't f**king bother, their system is worse than sky & their customer service is worse than awful

You can still use your freeserve account for retrieving mail - you can access the freeserve pop3 fine over NTL (or any other ISP in fact).
You'll still have to use the NTL server for sending though (SMTP).
Not sure if your delay is sending or receviing.

Oh yeah, and you can't read more than one e-mail at a time as it times out & automatically logs you out

Slightly off subject but to do with broadband.
Having just got the village enabled to use broadband and duly cancelled my second line and dial up with Freeserve (£26/month approx) I went with Pipex this month @ £23.44/month so overall a saving.
Then what? I bloódy well see Pipex have reduced it to £19.99 and also Freeserve have come in today at £17.99 also!!!
I was days late and feel well duped!!
C'est la vie.
