NTL broadband gone down again

They tell me that it's my computer

I'm an i.t techie for a school i tell them - there is nowt wrong with my computer

Keeps looooosing the connection - but it lets me register if i use a different nic card

Anyone else havin trouble with ntl - or anyone got any ideas pleeeeeeeeaaaasssseeeee

if you got another computer, connect it up. if that still fail, then you know for sure it's not the computer and it is either the cable modem or something else with NTL. throw the ball back into their court.

Dude...just lie to them and say that you have configged another PC/laptop to use the Broadband connection and still nothing!!

always works with me!!

other than that change your provider..or use the school broadband connection..

Does it just fail to connect after the PC is restarted, or does it just disconnect after about 4 hours?
If it's the former, I've no idea.
If it's the later, then you've got a firewall problem, meaning that the firewall is blocking the DHCP server from resetting the IP address every 4 hours.

What OS you on? on Xp n 2k ive got a ikon in system tray when its connected right, shows thats send and recived XP you get more info

USB connection? have you unchecked all the disconnect after x mins idle, and the USB power save options?

thank god for that the laptop lasted about 10 minutes then disconnected

I've used the second usb port - and it's connected again - give it another few minutes it'll disconnect again

And the damn thing did'nt disconnect - bo11ocks

That means that i will have to pick through my machine to find out why the connection is being lost - ohhhh buggerrrrrr
