It is a two seater (red seats, mmm), approx 1984, open top, in fact very little bodywork, very light, it has a rear mounted 4 cylinder boxer engine. Manual gears, rack and pinion steering, independant rear suspension. Just picked it up on Ebay, not rot anywhere on the body, 4 good tyres.
Had one exactly the same when I was a lot younger, was very unreliable, broke easily and needed a lot of pushing to get the engine going. The only model number to be found on it is 8860.

The lego one is an 8860 with boxer engine and two red seats (someone is having laugh, and was probably about 8 when he had the car first time round)

lightning101 has it !
I am 33 and going round buying up all the best stuff I had as a kid, I know have three boys aged 8,6 and 4 so can justify it, I get bored of it they get it !
8860 was the one in Lighning's piccie and is classis technic as opposed to the sh1te they produce these days, all pre formed bits that avoid the builder having to make standard parts do non standard things.
I sold all my Lego for 40 quid back in 1988 to fund a night out, about 6 technic sets and numerous other bits and I got forty poxy quid for it which I p1ssed up the wall the very same night, I wouldnt have minded if it had got me a Lego-ver at the end of the night.
Next on my list is Big Trak, peow peow peow, de du de du de du derr.

Yep - I used to have all the technic gear and all the Space sets - blue, green, black silver, blue, gold, silver men with space helmets etc.
Must be worth a fortune now, we are talking crates here (sad I know).

I got the same lego set in my loft since I was a kid with all my other technic lego - a couple of snow themed kits with skiiers. All my normal lego my son has to play with. Still got all my old toys boxed up including a load of the original star wars stuff. Kept most stuff thankfully although most stupid thing I did was sell several hundred quids worth of scalextric kit for £50 at a boot fair My son would love that now and I wouldn't be too against playing it once in a while Think my big trak got thrown out when it stopped working
S96 take it easy on that bike mate, it looks mint! Don't sell it!

j4cko,
hey cool that brings back memories I had one of those, a steal at that price too! have fun. What was it about that era 70s/80s there was so much innovation maybe its me but these days everything is just rehashed and rebadged nothing original now.
