Driving Lights vs Fog Lights
I know that you are not allowed to drive with the fog lights on, but my best mate got a ticket for driving with aftermarket(PIAA) driving lights on. Can you actually get a ticket for this? I thought it was illegal just for fog lights.

I thought driving lights had to come on with main beam ONLY. So if your mate had them on without main beam he was contravening wotever the relevant part of the construction and use regs. that this falls under.
Not a lover of oiks that drive around with fogs/*driving lights* on when it isn't foggy .....

Agree with Dave that driving lights should only come on with main beams. I think there is a Construction and Use regulation though about the height of driving/fog lamps. It's something like "If the centre of the lamp is less than 24 inches above ground, the light can only be used in fog or falling snow (visibility less than 100 metres)."

He was on the A3 today at 3:30am and it he went through a fog patch 5 mins before the coppers stopped him. I told him that he looks like a tit with the lights on but he is a mate and I was wondering if they can do the same with driving lights.
