Default freeview TV

I have got one of these boxes and its so so, reception is a bit iffy but I can't complain for fifty quid

Lately it seems to be picking up more chanels such as discovery etc, however you can't view them, it tells you they are encrypted.

So, the box sees the channels, they must be available to view, question is how?

can I chip my freeview box?

cheers,

mike.

The new channels are part of top up tv.

You need an old itv digital box or similar with a card slot in order to get this service, which is a monthly fee for about 10 extra channels including E4 and Discovery.

Apparantly there will be new set top boxes coming out but there are not many compatible as yet.

Thumbs down

£7:99 a month for 10 extra channels

And, get this! a £10 connection fee!! I HATE these fees!! The customer is doing THEM a favour!

Its the same as set-up fees for car loans!! WHAT THE F!!?? Get a Bank Loan free of set-up charges!

The ONE thing that stops me signing up is the £10 connection fee - they are cutting their noses off

Do a bit of searching and you will find someone able to un-encrypt the channels for free. Alternatively find a tandy type store and ask for the right parts to do the job!
