The police turned up at my house lastnight to charge me with speeding. The problem is that I haven't even recieved a Nip in the post and they wanted me to tell them who was driving 9 weeks ago

I've recently Moved house and changed my V5 over from my parents house to My new house. so in short I never recieved the NIP because I don't live there anymore. The recorded Delivery came for Me but my dad didn't accept as I have moved. He gave the postman my new address but nothing ever arrived.

so for anyone that knows ..... where do you think I stand on this. 9 weeks ago I can't remember who was driving the car last week never mind in Febuary.

no help with your nip but you might want to check out mail forwarding next time you move!

I believe that the police can serve a NIP if they can demonstrate that there are certain issues that rendered it impossible to do it within the normal 14days, such as incorrect registration details.

I thought that if a NIP was mailed then it would be done using normal first class, didn't realise they would use recorded. Are you sure the recorded mail was the NIP?

Just tell them you put it in to get new tyres and the spotty git in the garage must have took it out
