Dog 'booster' injections

Dog 'booster' injections
Mutt is up for a 'booster' injection now at about 13 months old according to the postcard from the vet. He's also due his second rabies vaccination so he can buy cheap **** in Calais and get home without a '6 month 'hotel' stay Cost £100
He'll have to have the rabies, but I've heard rumours that these boosters may be unecessary/potentially even harmful. It also doesnt really match what us human mammals have to have!
I'm not saying its huge corporate pharmaceuticals touting for business, but does anyone have any info on this. It was not necessary on previous mutts after all...
Cheers

I wouldn't have my cats get their annual *booster* if the catteries didn't insist on it. A bit like human vaccinations, a lot of hype .... IMHO.
Use google to search for things like 'problems with dog vaccinations' or words to that effect ....
Cheers

Trawling Google results in me thinking once every 3 to 4 years should be fine... Now I'm an absolute expert of course
You wouldnt get jabbed annualy yourself would you? We'd all end up unable to fight a cold, and needing a jab against that (told you I was an expert now )

Just found this too "But many years ago I stopped recommending annual booster vaccinations. I believe they are unnecessary and may be harmful in that they may overstimulate the immune system. This is only my opinion which I am unable to back with solid evidence but I am sure many dogs with skin disease suffer flare-ups after being given boosters. Also, I do not recall a single case where a dog which was vaccinated as a puppy but had no boosters ever caught distemper or parvovirus".
