It now keeps freezing up and when it does work it keeps trying to connect to the Internet or dialling the number 6 on it's own!! Any ideas on how I can fix it or is it knackered good and proper?!

try removing battery and putting phone in a tea towel on radiator, or better still put phone in airing cupboard ?? worked for me once !!!

Take out the battery and apply heat as above.

If you like taking apart electronic stuff, find a screw dirver that'll fit those tamper proof screws (big philips works for me ) . Take it to bits and mop up any liquid inside and re-assemble.

mite work for a week, mite work for a month, but its very rare that you get away with it...

Yeah, coke is one of the worst things. Even if you get it dry and working there will be a sugary residue inside which will be hydroscopic and absorb moisture from the atmosphere causing it not to work again.

I had a laptop at work brought back that had 1/2 pint of ribena inside it - its impossible to get rid of all the syrupy residue and the damn thing never dried out properly.

I have known of people wash down PCB's in the sink (mainly TV ciruit boards) to clean off the years of dust, dry it throughly ensuring no corrosion forms and they've been fine.

But I'm not going to recommend it in case you set the dog on me

Let it dry out, take it apart, and clean it with pure water then let it dry out completly, then try it. It might be damaged permanently if it was on though..

unless you can strip it down completley and dry everthing off it will eventually go kaput..

dam good shot to get it in a glass of coke!!

....i actually had similarly unlucky accident few years ago -'dropped' mine into bilge o me boat - retreived it dried it out and it worked on all but 1 button -took it up the ericsson repair centre(said it was playin up -i think it was under year old) they showed it to me said there had been some water ingress - dont know what they did to it but it worked for several more months

I tipped a can of coke over one of mine once, never worked again, internals were too sticky when dried out

did the dog actually pick the phone up and carry it over to the coke and drop it in, or was the phone perched somewhere precariously near the coke already. Stupid Dog!
